Bio: Started in 1910. THE KENYA YMCA CENTRAL BRANCH The Branch is located at the YMCA National Secretariat at the heart of Nairobi town. Surrounded by many universities and colleges the Branch seeks to empower a dynamic community of young talented and gifted youth. Our major focus is on our community-based programs that are tailor made to add up to the professional paths of all the college and university students. The branch also seeks to engage the communities around such as Kangemi and Kawangware to help empower the local community and the disadvantaged groups. Our major charity work is community service which include visitation to communities or social groups that have special needs and require special attention, such as, children homes, street families, homes for the aged, prisons, correction homes, rescue homes, People living with disabilities among others.

Y-Mazingira

We encourage the youth people to be active on climate action and environmental awareness.
We engage in:

Mentorship programs in schools
Policy Advocacy
Innovative climate solutions

Y-Mental Health

We are key players both grassroot and international in advocating also implementing Mental Health programs for the young people.

Y-Culture

We embrace the diversity of YMCA movement with regards to race, ethnicity etc We engage in: International Exchange Programs eg.Taiwan,German and Hong Kong Thematic Cultural Camps at Naivasha and Mombasa.

Y-Christian Emphasis

Guided by our background on Christianity, we empower the spiritual wellbeing of the young people.

Y-Sports

We engage in sports activities to empower the physical wellbeing of the young people.
