Y- Youth Peace, Security and Community Dialogues.
The Youth Peace, Security and Community Dialogues Program is a YMCA Kilifi Branch initiative that empowers young people to become ambassadors of peace, security, and social cohesion within their communities.
The program creates safe and inclusive spaces where youth, community members, local leaders, security agencies, and other stakeholders come together to discuss issues affecting peace and security. Through structured community dialogues, participants identify challenges, share experiences, and develop practical solutions that strengthen peaceful coexistence.
A key focus of the program is raising awareness on countering violent extremism (CVE) and preventing radicalization by educating young people on the dangers of terrorism, promoting tolerance, and encouraging positive alternatives that build resilient communities.

Y-Youth Outreach and Empowerment.
The Youth Outreach and Empowerment Program at YMCA Kilifi Branch is designed to empower young people by equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to become self-reliant and active contributors to their communities.
Through community outreach activities, we engage with young people in communities, educating them on the importance of forming and joining youth groups. Our team guides interested youth through the process of establishing well-organized groups, helping them develop leadership structures, define their goals, and register where applicable.
Beyond group formation, we provide continuous mentorship and monitor the progress of the groups to ensure they remain active, accountable, and impactful. We offer training in:
- Financial literacy and responsible money management.
- Leadership and youth group management.
- Project planning and implementation.
- Entrepreneurship and income-generating activities.
- Sustainable livelihood projects and resource mobilization.
- Teamwork, governance, and conflict resolution.
Our goal is to help young people build strong, sustainable youth groups that create economic opportunities, strengthen community participation, and improve their overall well-being. By nurturing leadership, financial responsibility, and innovation, we empower youth to develop lasting solutions to the challenges they face and become agents of positive change in their communities.
