Bio: Located in Chavakali, Sabatia Sub-County, Vihiga County, Kenya, Its a Branch of Kenya YMCA dedicated to empowering children, youth, and families through leadership development, education, health, environmental conservation, sports, and sustainable livelihoods. Our branch provides a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment where people develop skills, build character, and actively contribute to the well-being of their communities.
Programmes & Activities
Youth Leadership & Empowerment
We equip young people with leadership, life, and entrepreneurship skills through mentorship, volunteerism, and personal development programmes.
Sustainable Agriculture , spiritual growth ,Youth Peace And Security programmes.
Our Agricultural programmes promote climate-smart farming through vegetable and seedling production, demonstration farms, kitchen gardens, composting, Black Soldier Fly (BSF) farming, Azolla production, and farmer training.
Christian growth and Development
YMCA Chavakali is committed to naturing spiritual growth and Christian Values through discipleship ,bible study, prayer mentorship, and faith based programs . In partnership with World Hope Bible Institute we host a Bible and Theology school that equips students with sound biblical knowledge , Christian leadership skills ,and practical ministry training. The program prepare individuals to serve effectively in churches , communities ,and other areas of Christian ministry while fostering spiritual maturity and a life of integrity and service.
Environmental Conservation
We promote environmental stewardship through tree planting, climate action, waste management, environmental education, and community clean-up initiatives.
Sports & Recreation
Sports are used as a tool for youth development through football, volleyball, martial arts, indoor games, and recreational activities that encourage teamwork, entertainment through dance and acting, discipline, and healthy living.
Health & Well-being
We implement programmes that promote mental wellness, Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), HIV/AIDS awareness, and healthy lifestyles.
Children & Family Programmes
-Our children's programmes include Vacation Bible School (VBS), holiday activities, Christian mentorship, child protection, and family engagement initiatives.
Community outreach and partneships
We work with local communities ,schools, churches government agencies , other Organizations , CBOS , Groups And development partners to promote education , health , environmental conservation, youth empowerment , sustainable livelihoods and community service. our outreach initiatives aim to improve lives , strengthen communities , and inspire positive change
