The branch is committed to empowering young people through skills development, mentorship, entrepreneurship, and mental wellness programs that promote self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
Programmes & Activities
The Young Mothers Hairdressing and Beauty Program
The Young Mothers Hairdressing and Beauty Program targets young mothers aged 16–24 years by equipping them with practical hairdressing and beauty skills that enable them to generate income and improve the well-being of both themselves and their children.
The program welcomes partnerships through:
- Donation of hairdressing and beauty products and equipment.
- Student attachment and internship opportunities.
- Practical training and mentorship.
- Employment and business linkage opportunities.
- Financial and in-kind support.
Basic Entrepreneurship and Soft Skills Training
This program equips young people with entrepreneurial knowledge, employability skills, communication, leadership, financial literacy, and business management skills to prepare them for self-employment and the job market.
Basic Mental Health Training
Nakuru YMCA offers basic mental health training to enhance awareness, build resilience, reduce stigma, and equip young people with essential skills to support their mental well-being and that of their communities.
